Yoon (b. 1998) is a South Korean violinist and dedicated educator based in London. She regularly performs at prestigious venues and events across the city while maintaining a vibrant teaching practice.Education:
Yoon was a scholarship student at both the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (Bachelor of Music, Undergraduate) and the Royal Academy of Music (Master of Arts, Postgraduate). She studied under renowned violin teachers, including Philippe Honoré and Maya Iwabuchi (Concertmaster of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra).
In addition to her degrees, Yoon graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a teaching endorsement and holds an LRAM (Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music) from the Royal Academy of Music.
During her studies, Yoon was a finalist in the RCS Concerto Competition and received high commendation in the Louis Carus Duo Ensemble Prize. She has also taken part in prestigious masterclasses with renowned violinists such as Simon James, Tobias Ringborg, and Nicola Benedetti.Work:
Yoon has collaborated with numerous distinguished artists and ensembles, including Nicola Benedetti, Thomas Søndergård, Ludovic Morlot, Alice Farnham, John Wilson, Semyon Bychkov, the Brodsky Quartet, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and the Scottish Ensemble. She also co-led the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland.
Notably, her performance credits include performing for HRH The King of England at Buckingham Palace and contributing as a session musician for Hollywood film soundtracks, such as the Nosferatu remake starring Willem Dafoe.
In addition to classical performances, Yoon is a sought-after event musician. Her diverse work spans music videos, weddings, and hotel performances, as well as large-scale arena events. Notably, she performed on stage at the Resorts World Arena (Birmingham) for ESL One, the Dota 2 world championship.
Yoon is a passionate and dedicated music educator. She spent a year residing at the acclaimed Yehudi Menuhin School and now lives in Wembley. She worked as an ambassador for the Benedetti Foundation (formed by Nicola Benedetti) for two years (2023-2024). Yoon is a class leader for Mini Mozart, bringing her passion for early-years education.
